about

Il cuore è uno zingaro won the 1971 edition of the Festival di Sanremo, where it was sung by Nicola Di Bari and Nada.

In English Al Martino sang it under the title The Gipsy in You

La prima cosa bella was a great commercial success for Di Bari in 1970.
At the beginning of 2010 the song once again became popular when it was used in the Italian award wining motion picture of the same name directed by Paolo Virzì and sang by Malika Ayane for the sound track of the film.

"Al di là" (English translation: "Beyond") is a song written by Italian composer Carlo Donida and lyricst Mogol, and recorded by Betty Curtis. The song was the Italian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1961, performed in Italian by Curtis at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, on 18 March 1961, after Curtis had won the 1961 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival on 2 February 1961, which served as the Italian national selection from 1958 to 1966.

It was also recorded by Italian-American singer Connie Francis in Italian in 1962, and she re-recorded it in a bilingual version later during the same year. Source: Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_di_là

lyrics

amore amore amore
e` quello che so dire
ma tu mi capirai
I prati sono in fiore
profumi anche tu
ho voglia di morire
non posso piu` cantare
non chiedo di piu`
La prima cosa bella
che ho avuto dalla vita
e` il tuo sorriso giovane, sei tu.
Tra gli alberi una stella
la notte si e` schiarita
il cuore innamorato sempre piu`
sempre piu`
La senti questa voce
chi canta e` il mio cuore
amore amore amore
e` quello che so dire
ma tu mi capirai
I prati sono in fiore...
La prima cosa bella
che ho avuto dalla vita
e` il tuo sorriso giovane sei tu
Tra gli alberi una stella
la notte si e` schiarita
il cuore innamorato sempre piu`
La senti questa voce
chi canta e` il mio cuore
amore amore amore
e` quello che so dire
ma tu mi capirai
ma tu mi capirai
